So we’re here, the beginning of a New Year well sort of, and I thought of starting a new series on my blog where end of year
I talk about the things I've learnt.
I feel like everybody will take different things away from this year because it’s been one of the most diverse and challenging twelve months for a lot of people, myself included. 2016 has taught me a lot of things, I wanted to list my top 16 that I’m going to walk out of ’16 with.
1 – It’s okay to be you.
People say this all the time, and I always agree and nod, but this year has been so incredibly fun but also hard, in so many ways. As I've watched my dad grow into a strong loving person and seeing my nan and grandad becoming old. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with old people, I just love spending time with both my nan and grandad and this year I was able to make that happen but it's also hard to see them grow old.
other than that this is year has been pretty amazing with meeting John Barrowman at the beginning of the Year and attending two youtube related events, But I have come to the conclusion that I am proud to be me and I am what I am.
2 – I don’t care what people think anymore.
This is very general and applies to all aspects of my life (obviously) but YouTube wise, I literally do not care anymore. Back in the day I used to care what people thing about be and how different I was due to begin autic and dybrix and with begin on youtube and doing what I love I finally realised who care's what people think this day as long as youre happy and doing what you love then it shouldn't really matter.
3- Travelling is my favourite thing.
I would love to travel, as I found this year I rather enjoyed travelling around London with my closest friends, even though there were for just events it pretty fun to see the world and see what it actually out there. So I found out this year I do love travelling and it's a good thing because in October I'll be visiting Disney Land Pairs now that is pretty darn amazing. I don't really travel a lot though as I do sometimes find it hard to get to one place to the other but if I'm with friends or family I should be okay.
4- If I put my mind to it, I can do it.
This applies to a lot of aspects of my year. Starting out with my blog and business this is something I aim to bring back and try to make it successful. This would probably apply to anyone reading this but to be honest with you, I have always put my business first. I shop quite regularly, as I’m sure a lot of you see if you have me on snapchat, but I would love to be able to do more then rather just shop maybe visit more castles and caves.
5- My friends have my back, always.
I don't have a group of friends instead I have two best friends who I pretty much see every day and there’s always somebody to talk to. But you could say I have the small group of youtube and blogger friends who are so lovely and always there when you need them.
6- Music always works.
I genuinely do think that music therapy solves everything. Music has taught me a lot and whenI'm having a stressful day I can wind down by listening to my favourite tracks and maybe even get up and dance in a while. Music can make you forget about the real world even if it is only for a few minutes, If in doubt – listen to music!
7- YouTube friends are the best.
I started this year off without people like Chloe, Mike, and much more, I know we haven't met in person but when we talk it feels like we've known each other our whole lives. They always are there to help with any problems you may have and seem to be great friends, these are friends I've made on youtube and I'm quite happy to call then my friends. It makes me quite sad that we're all living in different locations and aren't able to meet up but hopefully one day we will be able too.
8- Don’t settle for anything less than Jesse Spencer.
If you follow me on twitter you might be familiar with the on running joke about me getting with Jesse Spencer, Me and Stevie especially joke about this in the vlogs and all, but any drama with boys isn’t worth it, because if they’re not Jesse Spencer they aren't really worth your time I think that’s something I’ll definitely take from 2016, because nobody deserves to be anyones second best. Ever.
Wherever you are reading this, I hope you had a fab Year, and that everybody enjoys 2017 like they deserve to, it’s a clean slate. A fresh chapter. Make it a good’n 🙂
Love you all lots and lots, thank you for the support throughout 2016, it’s been insane.
